Everything is a carcinogen. Some (tobacco smoke, asbestos, etc.) are worse than others. It's all about risk management.

Dunno about that...

...because I dunno what cortisol is and can't be bothered to find out. It's Xmas for goodness sake!

Coffee is a diuretic, which means it makes you p!ss in general. Therefore, it means you can get dehydrated from too much coffee and it could flush things from your system. However, I've never heard of it specifically targetting b-vits.

I would imagine that only babies are prone to baby fat, and not too many babies drink coffee. Therefore, I see no connection!

Of course Atlantis existed. Where do you think all the Druids came from?

Hope that helped.

Pretty much, just being alive can give you cancer.

Cortisol is called "the stress hormone". Cortisol is produced in response to stress: physical, like chronic pain or habitual lack of sleep, or emotional: your standard type A corporate stress monkey or single 2-job mom, for example. Coffee (any chemical stimulant, really, including herbal stuff like guarana and ma huang) elevates cortisol.

It's a neurotoxin, high levels of it have detrimental effects on your immune system and can cause memory loss and other brain function problems if you've got consistently high levels of it. It's a big contributor to brain aging... like forgetfulness... and... um..... where's my coffee? ;)

A little cafe con leche never hurt anybody. As for side effects, wish I didn`t have to pee n a cup, grew up in Florida :) Alot worse than our coffee drinking friends, are the drug infested chemical crowd. Peace to the herb brothers and sisters.

Hmmmm.....Maybe if we were all dead there would be NO MORE CANCER.?

Why has no one ever thought of that before?

well sure, dead people almost never get cancer. They also don't get stressed out. All dead people get is smelly.

back to the original topic, I recently learned that coffee doesn't deplete B-vits, but stress does, and in a big way. So take a multivitamin with that java.

unless you're dead, then don't worry about it.

HOLY S H I T!!!!! I'M ALIV E! IT'S THE LEADING CAUSE OF CANCER!!!!!!!!
Anyway, coffee doesn't seem to be much of a carcinogen. And caffeine is a fat burner. It works by releasing more fatty acids from storage to be burned. Of course this only works if you work out. So coffee shouldn't cause any more baby fat (what IS baby fat if you're an adult?) than those 6 beers you had before class to "carb up"!
And of course Atlantis exists! Where do you think AQUA-MAN is from!!!

it's still baby fat -- it's the fat you never lost because haven't exercised since you were a baby. :D

Coffee contains a very high acidity level which can leech bvitamins as well as vitamin C out of your system. the darker the roast of the coffee the less caffeine it will have but it will also be higher in acidity. Coffee can actually be beneficial to you in the morning as a mild Laxative. However the kidneys are worked overtime to flush it out of your system. i am not sure about the cortisol.

as far as atlantis existing,,,,,,hopefully the next "Indiana jones" movie which they ARE making(Harrison fords last one) will address this issue.:)
