This is a combination of news involving "ego student" and "not enogh from the school" threads.

Well apparently one of my high kicks knocked something loose in his head and he quit the tournament. I have mixed feeling in this regard. I'm glad he quit the tournament but saddened he won't get the stuffing beat out of him. Don't take this the wrong way now, I just thought he needed to learn the HARD way. Maybe in sparring that was hard enough for him though. It was an apparent wake up call for him.

As for me now, I am going to take a much needed break from the action. Something like a week or two to rest(due to general fatigue and partial flu) and gather my thoughts on some things. I am changing my main focus from muay thai for a while to jkd. It will be only somewhat temporary, like a few months or so. Maybe longer, who knows.... I am still considering a match next year sometime but as it sits, my body is just telling me to lay off the Thai for a while. I guess I should listen.

Thanks to all who gave their opinions on both my current threads, I really do appreciate the feedback from all the members. Sorry Seven, I never got to do the 12 step program. Oh well, there will be other students. *joking*

Later All and thanks again

Glad everything worked out. It sucks that you didn't get to try the 12 step program though :(

Definitely listen to your body. If it tells you to lay off, then lay off for a while. keep working it on your own, and you can always go back to class later. Are you gonna be going to jkd or jun fan?

I will be doing jkd. The class is split actually into 2 parts. Monday its stick/jkd and wednesday knife/jkd. There is a half hour of each. I will pick up the bjj in a little while, probably a couple of weeks after I get back. I can train it all at Ballys with my partner so no worries there. The best part is wed. bjj class is no gi. My personal fave, more street oriented and easier to mix with the thai.

All in all, I know him not fighting is for the best. I just hope this shuts him up a little bit.

The guy that was being an idiot in my class got hit hard in the face by a senior student. He got over-excited and literally walked into it while the guys hand was just being held there. He has since stopped being such a total idiot, he is only 99% idiot now.

Another 99 smacks in the head should sort out the problem then! ;)
